UFC 300 will take place in Las Vegas on April 13th, featuring an event that is comparable to any UFC pay-per view in history. The vast majority of fighters who will be appearing at UFC 300 have already been added to EA Sports UFC 5. However, EA Vancouver has announced a major roster update in celebration of this milestone UFC event. In addition, more fighters are expected to join the roster both in May and June.
The first update to the roster will be available tomorrow on April 4 and includes several fighters who are ranked or rising stars. All of the additions are free and include surging prospects as well as mainstay competitors, fan favorites, etc. Below is the complete list of additions that will be free this week.

EA Sports UFC 5 was released last year, and one of the most common criticisms was the fact that it lacked so many fighters currently in the top ten. EA Sports addressed this criticism in part through post-launch updates such as the one below. EA Sports claims that by June the game will be 98 percent in line with current rankings for the top 10 weight classes.
