Tobias Sjogren, the former CEO of Starbreeze Studios has left the company. The Payday 3 developers are now looking for a replacement. The news is based on a recent investor notice, which explains that board member Juergen Göldner will be acting as interim CEO until he can find a permanent replacement. This was reported by .

In a letter to shareholders, board chair Torgny hellstrom wrote: “I would like to express my gratitude to Tobias Sjogren on behalf of the Board of Directors for his accomplishments over the last three years.” Tobias Sjogren took the reins of Starbreeze at a difficult time in its history. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
Goeldner is the interim CEO and he adds that “Starbreeze’s history in developing and publishing global games has been strong.” The company, after launching Payday 3 is in a good position to leverage its strengths to develop and monetize the IP portfolio. “I am excited to assume an operational position, and together with management, make sure that this strategy is executed.”
According to the announcement, Goeldner is a 40-year veteran of the gaming industry with a wide range of executive roles. He was CEO at Focus Home Interactive, his last executive role. Since last year, he has served on the board of Starbreeze. Starbreeze is currently recruiting for a new permanent CEO.
payday 3 was released on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on September 21. The Game Informer Payday 3 review gave it an 8/10. In its first month more than 3,000,000 people played Payday 3. However, the game failed to live up to the studio’s expectations.
