PlayStation has released a new update to the PlayStation 5 which enhances the audio quality on the DualSense Controller, introduces new Share Screen functions, and much more. This update was beta-tested last month, but is now available to everyone.
DualSense controller, the PS5’s most advanced controller, will be receiving its biggest updates. PlayStation claims that the built-in speakers will now be able to produce higher volumes of sound. This will allow gamers to hear voice chat and in-game audio more clearly. The noise cancellation of the built-in microphone on the controller has also been improved.
A new A.I. model has improved the mic input quality of these controllers. A PlayStation blog post reads. Background noise is suppressed from game audio and button presses, leading to a better voice-chat experience.
Share Screen also gets some new features in today’s update. Viewers can now move the pointer and send a message or draw a straight line on a screen shared by other players. This allows them to guide or highlight an object in-game. These features are disabled by default, and both the host and viewer will need to activate them. PlayStation announced that these Share Screen features will be added to the PS App later this month, which allows Share Screen.
The update released today allows users to change the brightness of their PS5 power indicator. You can adjust the brightness of the PS5 power indicator by going to Settings and then Light and Beep.
